Teaching Responsibilities:
1). Micr 436: Molecular and Microbial Genetics (Fall) (4 credits)
A basic course in molecular genetics. Examples to illustrate genetic principles are drawn from all forms of life.
2). Micr 332: Microbial Physiology (Spring) (2 credits)
Cytology, nutrition, metabolism, and growth of microorganisms.
3). Micr 332L: Microbial Physiology Lab (Spring) (2 credits)
4). Micr 450: Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology (team taught, Fall, 3 credits)
5). Micr 498: Undergraduate research (every semester, 1 – 3 credits)
6). ABS 705-S03:Research Methods:Tools for Proteomics(Spring)

Research interests:

Bacterial ecophysiology
Proteomic analysis of bacteria growing as biofilms and in soil
Fate and survival of pathogenic bacteria in soil, aqueous and food processing environments
