Teaching Activities: BIOL 101/101L, 103/103L Biology Survey I and II Lecture and laboratory (3 credits). A general biology course for undergraduate non-biology majors. First semester topics include: cellular chemistry and metabolism, cell division and genetics, evolution, kingdoms and ecology. Second semester topics include: surveys of plant and human anatomy and physiology.
BIOL 151/151L, 153/153L General Biology I and II Lecture and laboratory (4 credits each semester). The two-semester general biology series for biology and related majors. First semester topics include: scientific methods, molecular and cellular aspects of life, evolution and populations/communities within the ecosystem. Second semester topics include: cellular respiration, photosynthesis, plant and animal structure and physiology.
SEED 413 Science Methods (Fall) Designed to help future high school science teachers develop tools of inquiry and the ability to design, deliver and evaluate a variety of instructional strategies and processes that incorporate learning resources, materials, technologies and state and national curriculum standards.
ENVM 592 AP Environmental Science (Summer) The AP Biology Summer Institute is designed to assist high school teachers to develop and enhance their high school AP Environmental Science courses. All approved AP exercises are completed during the week-long workshop. Graduate credit and / or teacher certificate renewal are available.
