Research Area: PLANT PHYSIOLOGY / BIOCHEMISTRY / ETHNOBOTANY
Introduction:
Our lab works to understand the regulation of plant growth and development at the whole plant, cellular, and molecular levels. Examination of plant secondary products having pharmaceutical potential, nutritional value of native plants, and the development of horticultural methods for bringing native plants into modern agriculture are integral to our program in ethanobotany. Graduate and undergraduate students participate in a variety of funded projects that examine important fundamental research questions, generate results that help South Dakota agriculture, and provide students with valuable research experience.
Research Interests:
Ethnobotany / Native Plants of the Great Plains Plant Secondary Products Biochemistry Horticulture of Native Plants Cadmium and Other Heavy Metals in Plants
