Professor Whalen teaches Genetics (BIO 371) each semester and summer. This is a general genetics course that deals with the nature, transmission, and expression of the hereditary material in plants, animals, humans, and microorganisms. Because of its broad scope it serves as a prerequisite to many other courses and so is required of students in several disciplines. He also teaches General Biology Labs (BIO 102).
