Whether you are preparing for professional school, graduate school, or planning on getting a job upon graduation, a major in the SDSU Biology and Microbiology Department can prepare you for that future career. The department offers programs leading to the bachelor's degree with a major in Biology and Microbiology with several different emphases, and in Environmental Management.
The department has more than 30 excellent faculty who offer courses of study and are doing research at all levels of biological organization – from molecules to microbes to ecosystems. The programs offered by the department draw from this rich source of biological science expertise at SDSU, resulting in very strong and competitive programs.
Students are also encouraged to join and get involved in activities of the department's student clubs. These experiences provide valuable work experience in your profession, allow you to become acquainted with faculty members, develop your full potential and aid you in seeking employment after graduation.
