He is currently a PhD student in the Sociology Department at SDSU.  He has been in this program for one year now.  His areas of specialization are Social Organizations and Cultural Ecology.  Race, Class, and Gender are other major areas of interest.

For his research Alexis focused on issues related to social representations of rural space and alternative farming systems in Western countries, especially France and the US.

Alexis has taught French at SDSU since Fall, 2005.
