Nicole Benevento received her B.A. in Spanish with a minor in Secondary Education from the University of Florida (located in Gainesville, Florida). During the summer of 2001, she studied abroad at the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo in Seville, Spain. Miss Benevento began her graduate studies in the Department of Education at the University of Florida in August 2002. In January 2003 she transferred to the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures to pursue an M.A. in Spanish Linguistics. During her graduate studies, she gained experience teaching at the university level as a T.A. in the Beginning Spanish program. In May 2004, she received her M.A. in Spanish Linguistics from the University of Florida.
Miss Benevento is now an Instructor in the Beginning Spanish Program at SDSU. Her additional service to the Modern Languages Department includes assisting with Independent Studies (Spanish for Health Professionals) and being the faculty advisor to Sigma Delta Pi Sociedad Nacional Honoraria Hispánica (National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society), an organization of which she is a lifetime member.
