Christi Garst-Santos received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish in 1994 and a Master of Arts in Spanish with a certification in Chicano Studies in 1997 from Colorado State University. Christi has worked as an instructor of Spanish in the Modern Languages Department at SDSU since Fall 1997. She was on educational leave at the University of Iowa from 2003-2005 and currently is working on completing her Ph.D. in Spanish Literature.


Christi is the coordinator of the Spanish Program at SDSU and teaches Spanish language, literature and culture courses at all levels. She also enjoys teaching occasional courses for the Women's Studies and Latin American Studies interdisciplinary programs. Her teaching and research interests focus on Spanish literature and culture of the 16th and 17th centuries, gender performance and women in literature.




Christi Garst-Santos obtuvo su licenciatura en Español (1994) y su maestría en Español con una especialización en Estudios Chicanos (1997) en Colorado State University. Christi ha trabajado como instructora de Español en el Departamento de Lenguas Modernas en SDSU desde el 1997. Estuvo de permiso educativo en la Universidad de Iowa en 2003-2005 y actualmente está terminando su doctorado en Literatura Española.



Christi es la coordinadora del Programa de Español en SDSU y enseña cursos de lengua, literatura y cultura de todos los niveles. De vez en cuando, ella también disfruta de enseñar clases para los programas interdisciplinarios de Estudios Femeninos y Estudios Latinoamericanos. Sus intereses de enseñanza e investigación se centran en la literatura y cultura española de los siglos dieciséis y diecisiete, la representación del género y la mujer en la literatura.
