The Music Department has full membership in the National Association of Schools of Music (membership renewed in 2000). As a member of NASM, the department is committed to upholding the organization’s national standards for curriculum and policy. Those standards may be found in the NASM Handbook www.arts-accredit.org
The National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education
The preparation of music teachers is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. The department is committed to upholding NCATE’s standards for curriculum and policy for the delivery of the Bachelor of Music Education degree. Those standards may be found at www.ncate.org.
