Remediation Policy

Remediation Statement
Students are responsible for meeting all requirements of South Dakota State University, the College of Education and Counseling, and the Counseling and Human Resource Development Department. More specifically:

  • Students must maintain satisfactory academic standing.
  • Students must adhere to the Academic Ethics Policies identified in the SDSU Student Conduct Handbook.
  • Students must maintain the standard of care as outlined in the ACA ethical standards (ACA, 1995).
  • Students must demonstrate functional competence in fulfilling the professional tasks and duties of the discipline.
  • Students are limited to 2 attempts to successfully complete clinical courses: Pre-Practicum, Group, Practicum, and Internship (B or better required).
