South Dakota State University is committed to promoting diversity and eliminating discrimination at SDSU. The responsibilities for meeting these goals are shared between two offices. The Office for Diversity Enhancement focuses predominantly on identifying ways to increase and encourage diversity on campus. The Human Resourses Department houses the Equal Opportunity Officer, who ensures a fair and equitable employment process and provides a venue for resolving discrimination and harassment concerns. Together, these departments are committed to creating an affirming environment for all individuals of diverse backgrounds by providing training, as well as investigating and resolving discrimination and harassment complaints. Students, staff and other individuals are encouraged to contact the appropriate offices with questions and concerns relating to diversity issues on campus, discrimination/harassment prevention information, reporting discrimination, and complaint procedures.
