Former Student Re-Admission Requirements
|
| If you previously attended SDSU or any other South Dakota regental public university [External Hyperlink] as a degree-seeking student and want to apply for readmission, you must submit a new admission application (no application fee is required), plus official transcripts from all institutions you attended since attending SDSU. Once we receive all documents required to complete your file, we will review your application. If your cumulative grade point average for all college coursework is above a 2.0 and you left all previous schools in good standing, your application will be processed right away.
The following circumstances require that we refer your application to the dean of the SDSU college that houses your academic major for admission approval: - You were on academic probation or suspension at SDSU or any other institution. - Your cumulative grade point average for all college coursework falls below 2.0.
If you meet either of these criteria, we recommend that you send a letter or an e-mail explaining your previous academic circumstances to the Admissions Office. We will include this information in your file, and it will be reviewed along with your application by the college dean.
You can print a copy of the readmission application below. If you would rather receive and complete the application via e-mail, please contact the Admissions Office to request an e-mailed copy of the application.
Please allow 2-4 weeks for processing of your application. We will notify you in writing of your admission status. We are happy to answer any questions about your application, so do not hesitate to contact the Admissions Office at any time.
