Undergraduate Student Admissions

The SDSU Admissions Office processes applications on a rolling basis. Students are encouraged to apply well in advance (six to ten months) of the semester they wish to attend in order to arrange housing, apply for financial assistance, and to attend new student orientation/early registration programs.
Admission to SDSU is open to all academically qualified students and is granted without regard to age, race, color, religion, sex, handicap, or national origin.

All degree-seeking applicants must submit the following to be considered for admission:

 Admission Application |
| $20 Application fee (If you have previously attended SDSU or another South Dakota public university, you are not required to pay the application fee to SDSU.) |
| Official Report of ACT (All students who are not two years beyond high school graduation are required to take the ACT test and have the results sent to SDSU.) |
| High School Transcript |

In addition, all transfer applicants must provide:

| Official College Transcript(s) |
| Official transcripts from all the schools you previously attended |
|
All transcripts should be sent directly to the SDSU Admissions Office from the various schools you have attended. Transcripts either mailed in by a student or dropped off by a student are not considered official transcripts. If you are currently enrolled at another institution, you may send partial transcripts and be considered for provisional admission until the final transcript arrives.
Upon admission to the university, all new applicants are required to submit a health examination form along with proof of the Board of Regents required immunizations. This form will be sent to students prior to their enrolling at SDSU. All former SDSU students must submit a health exam form if it has been one year since they last attended SDSU.
